FORD Escorts
Escorts come in three different shape combustion chambers. The round is used on the 1.6L and on the HO (high output) Escorts. The Dee and the heart shape are used on the 1.9L and will not interchange. We can tell what style you have by the casting number but it is easier just to look if the head is off the car.

The front 1/8 pipe hole of each head must remain open to feed the timing chain tensioner on both banks. The rear location plugs must be installed or a massive oil leak will result when the enginge is started
